People smoke cannabis for two reasons:  
1: It is a very good social drug. It makes you laugh, it makes you talk about stupid yet interesting things and it really makes you appreciate spending times with your friends. (I find). Again, this is not really that much different to alchohol (except it doesn't make you violent...)
2: It is a great relaxant. This is primarily what I use it for. I personally have not found a better way to relax after a hard days work than to light up a joint. A lot of people come home and watch TV to relax them, that's fine but it's not for me. I hate television and I'd rather not have my mind polluted by it. I just don't understand why people are so quick to criticise lifestyles like mine when in reality they are very similar to everyone elses: we just use different methods. Yes I'm aware that by smoking cannabis I'm damaging my lungs and no i don't think i'm going to go scitzhophrenic because of it but I'm also aware that watching mindless soaps on television hinders the imagination, dulls the mind and creates a fantasy world around the watchers as much as drugs do.
